Nomination Criteria:
The deadline for submitting a nomination is August 1. Completed nominations will remain active for three years.
- Nominees must be TWLTA members in good standing for three of the past four years
- Nominees must have a minimum of five years teaching experience at the post-secondary level, with at least half of each year's assignment in foreign language teaching, foreign language education, or a related administrative role
- Nominees must either be currently engaged in such work or be recently retired from such a position (within the past three years)
- Previous recipients are ineligible

The following supporting data will be required of finalists by September 1. The nominator may be asked to help collect some of this data.
Required:
- An account detailing the nominee's dedication to teaching and service
- Two to five letters of support from colleagues and / or supervisors
Optional:
- Resume / CV of nominee
- Letters of support from professional organizations
- Letters of support from former students
- Articles about the nominee in school newsletters, local newspapers, etc.
- Publications of nominee
